Chun’an, located at the southwest of Hangzhou, is famous for thestate-level scenic spot - the Thousand Island Lake. It is thedemonstration zone of the key ecological function zones of Zhejiang andthe experimental zone of “Beautiful Hangzhou”. Known as “a famous statein historic documents with beautiful landscape”, Chun’an has a longhistory and profound culture. It is also a place blending with Hui styleculture and Jiangnan culture.
As a state-level ecological county and ecological protection andconstruction demonstration zone, Chun’an possesses exquisite scenery.The ecological environment here is the best throughout the country.Thereinto, the Thousand Island Lake is one of the best large lakereservoirs, the water quality of which has reached the I-grade standardof surface water. The number of days of fine air environment quality hasoccupied 95% of the whole year. This is why it is called “the naturalforest oxygen bar”.
Beautiful landscape is the treasure. Protecting the Thousand IslandLake has become the main concern of Chun’an. The G20 Summit will be heldin Hangzhou in 2016. Being the backyard and moat of the summit, Chun’anwill take the summit as the center and highlight the environmentalimprovement and promotion work.
In order to build Chun’an into a neat, sweet, civilized, flourishingand open county, we have conducted comprehensive renovation along thelake, carried out concentrated disposal of illegal fishing, disorderedconstruction, white trash, disordered parking and other problems. 1,789troubles have been found and assigned to relevant villages and towns tofinish the renovation on schedule.
To ensure the neatness of Chun’an during the summit, we have dividedthe whole Chun’an into several districts and blocks covering the roadsand river ways throughout the county as well as the water area of theThousand Island Lake, established “responsibility system” ofenvironmental improvement for leading cadres and carried out individualgrid management. Meanwhile, we have studied and issued emission standardfor the Thousand Island Lake which is higher than the state level so asto keep the clearness of the lake eternally.
The holding of the G20 Summit in Hangzhou provides a great chance forChun’an to go global. It takes quite a long time for the ThousandIsland Lake tourism to transform from sightseeing to a combination ofsightseeing and leisure. Now, Chun’an is enhancing the construction ofcomprehensive supporting facilities such as reception facilities,consumption payment, travel consultation, signs, transportation,assistance and insurance with international standard and acceleratingthe training of tourism employees who have a good knowledge of the basicrules and traditions of international tourism, endeavoring to buildChun’an into an “international tourist destination for leisure andvacation”.
As to the virescence, beautification and brightening of the urbanarea, Chun’an will accelerate the construction of urban furniture andribbon, hold various kinds of cultural and sports activities andlandscape architecture such as Cherry Blossom Avenue and Sunshine FlowerSea, and strengthen the sense of dynamic and beauty of the city toexhibit the results of the ecological civilization construction of Chinato the whole world.
There’re 23 villages and towns and 425 administrative villages inChun’an. The beautiful scenery breeds unique rural culture. Chun’an hasdeveloped a series of featured tourism products including high-end localvacation featured in resorts and quality homestay, sample of “wealthyvillage of China” with Xiajiang Village as the representative as well asworld-level landscape road around the lake which combines greenwayriding, leisure agriculture, recreation near the water, exercises,special catering and other products together. Isn’t it pleasing tostroll in the countryside with scented flowers and ripe fruit throughoutthe year?
The Thousand Island Lake shares the honor of the West Lake.
